Did You Miss Controversy Theory?

This week we finished up the Controversy Theory Series on the podcast.

What an incredible journey! 17 episodes that walked us through the basics of the theory and helped pave the way for future Transcend Human episodes as well as a potential follow-up book called Conscience Driven Therapy.

If you weren’t able to join us in real time don’t worry! You can jump in at any point.

Quick summary:

Controversy Theory was written for hurting people - people who have experienced the down side of the Human Condition. Whether that be Human Nature, Human Suffering or Human Disturbance. It seeks to explain the origin of the Human Condition, and its ongoing impact on humankind due to the battle that exists between God and Satan for our vote in an Eternal Election.

The Human Condition exists because of the Sin Virus - a condition introduced into our world by Lucifer (now Satan) who was kicked out of Heaven when this virus was found in him. Having lost his position in Heaven, Satan now seeks revenge - which he gets every time he convinces one of us to join him in open rebellion against God.

Next, Controversy Theory offers answers to the Big Three Questions people are asking: Where we came from, Why we’re here and Where we’re going when we die. These answers not only show us our inherent value, but also suggest our purpose in life - and how important it is to take life seriously. We must understand this in order to take future steps toward health and wholeness.

Controversy Theory is made up of 15 Basic Assumptions - and we walk through each of them - one per episode. Starting with the truth that a controversy exists, and ending with the truth that at some point it will all come to an end.

Along the way we discuss God and Satan’s game plans, and their weapons in the controversy (the conscience and temptation). Our participation in the controversy, and that worship is something we all do whether we like it or not. We discuss rules and regulations. We talk about choices, habits and character. And we discuss the fact that at the end of time there will only be 2 outcomes - but that people will fall into 4 categories, and will be living many different lifestyles.

As said before, Controversy Theory is just that - a theory - meant to explain the existence of something and suggest causation. The next step is to build upon the theory with practical application. And this is where Conscience Driven Therapy comes in. It doubles as a treatment manual for clinicians, but is also an easy-to-read self help manual for you and me. When CDT is completed, it will provide a step-by-step process for taking what we learned in CT and making it useful. I can’t wait to pull this together and get it out to you!
